Photoshopping is such a good way to fill in the time between laundry loads and drying the dog after her bath, making brownies, lunch for the sweetheart . . .

I'll be back with the credits, but I'm getting tired. The model is from faestock on deviantart.com, one of my favorite resources.

I decided to add my updated picture here so I could compare the two. For some reason, they always look different on here than in PS. ???

Guitarist: guitarist_by_crashmind-d4whd4h (also on deviantart.com)
Background Dance Studio: grey area. No credit or even posting of location of studio. Takes me to website for paper dolls and dance outfits. So . . . well . . . shux. I didn't look into it till just now. I needed a straight on shot and the ambiance of this one was perfect, so I used it and . . . the rest is history.

I knew an attorney who had a license plate customized. It read: sosueme. Sigh

Well well well Clare...

This is one of your best. And what I mean by that is, it's perfectly blended and the models shadowing is spot on.

I will say, when cutting out your model with dangling hair. It's difficult to get it looking perfect. Try adding a hair brush shape to the edges of the hair just to take out those slight soft brush marks.

Very nice indeed.

Nice one Clare.. I like the way the model is blended to the scene... and Yes, the shadow is spot on... I'd decrease the opacity of the guitarist in the background a bit and add same these to the windows to the left and right.. just to get the perfect feel of in-door dance floor

This one's great, aunty.

Model blended in well to the scene. Have to agree with Inkz - touch-up the hair with super fine brushes . Decrease the opacity on guitarist and add him to the floor reflection (maybe?) .

Thanks Inkz, I can always use more brush sets. Would you believe I already made three layers of hair with brushes. But I could use some really fine ones. It was hard to make the layer soft enough without changing colors.

Thanks everyone. I will work on this and post my updated version, after I quit running around spending my meager funds on girly stuff. Oh well, what should a girl do with her last dollar? Beauty I say; Vanity yes! One of my first formal drawing/poster was named Vanity. So I've always known. If know one else cares, I will enjoy my own fake nails for a few days before I get to my private client's massage needs!

Hummmm..Photoshop and brownies in the same place. What is your address?

Just around the corner from you AL! Southern Cal.

On Dahlia Avenue, 6 blocks from the beach. Where the smell of Brownies is intoxicating. OK, new whereabouts location for me. No longer eating humble pie.

Well I live in LA ....really...."Lower Alabama". I can smell those brownies all the way over here!

L.A., Lower Alabama :bustagut:

I bet you get a bit of mileage out of that. Standard joke where you live?

Good brownies. Plenty left. Anytime you get here. And I make a batch a week, so no hurry . . .

Yes, us Alabama rednecks have to put up with a lot. I thought for years that the last words of the national anthem were "Gentlemen, start your engines".

Inkz, I have trouble finding brushes that have fine enough flyaway hairs so I am still not satisfied with my results. I may work on these. Had trouble finding one download of brushes that looked like they might fit the bill. Tomorrow I think I'll look some more. Even if I find something I may just post the reconfigured hairdo!

From all your comments, I have made these changes. I think I am going to use some of the tips I learned from your lighting tutorial Inkz and make the lamps glow just a bit more. There is something flat about this image that I don't like. Maybe the dancer needs more glow highlights. I can't put my finger on it. If I combine a glow on the lights with a few more highlights on the model, maybe that will do it. I did dodge her eyes and put in a speck of white or two.

Very well done Clare, honestly one of my fav. on this forum. Trying to get the hair right is always a p.i.a. That's why I try to avoid using anything with hair/fur as much as possible lol.

ah hershy, you must find a nice selection of brushes. They are such a big help. Don't avoid the strands, worship them!

and thank you both. Matt (nice to see you stranger) I have been getting my inspiration from songs lately. Guess my imagination needs some ooomph. This one is . . . the Police. Every damn move you make sister, I'll be watching you!
