Epson 4880 printer on a mac.

I have installed the printer on my (new to me, secondhand) mac. It works, in so far as it communicates (will clean heads & print test page)

However, upon trying to do a print (from photoshop) its all gone badly wrong!

This is not a new printer or new to me. I have used it for the last 4 years or so on both PC & mac. It’s an extremely frustrating bit of kit.

I am now using it on a 2006 24 inch iMac.

The file/paper size to be printed is 17x64 inches (but could be 17x…anything really)

In the “manage custom sizes” tab, I have set up an entry called “64”. The parameters are set to….

Size 1627mm x 432mm. All “Non printable area” settings set to zeros.

I firstly tried “Borderless Banner”, but that was rejected as incorrect setting, so eventually settled on “Roll paper – Banner”

The printer has traditionally been temperamental, when printing borderlessly!

The representation of the final layout looks fine. Anyway, - I sent that off to the printer, but it “printed” a TOTALLY blank sheet, about 24 inches long. I double checked all the settings & sent again, only for it to do exactly the same thing!

Anybody any idea whatsoever? I cannot afford to keep wasting paper, like this.

Incidentally….If using 17 inch wide paper roll, and simply adjusting the length from 12 inches to around 93 inches, this printer has always been somewhat temperamental, in terms of whether it will print using a “borderless” setting or not. It is capable of printing to 17 inches borderlessly so why say it cannot?

Any help….MUCH APPRICIATED!
