Hey Hersh, this is a great idea! Very SG1 or Hollow-Suite from TNG (Computer, arch please)! Looks very much like a gateway to another world!
Just for kicks, try making the "other world" much more alien just to see how it might look. Like adding a Binary Star in the sky or a large Planet with ominous rings.....something that tells the viewer, "we're not in Kansas anymore". The hard edges at the base of the gate structure need some softening and some shadows, otherwise a fantastic job.
