Elements 7 Question

I had been using Photoshop Elements 5 for a number of years and was given a chance to obtain Elements Version 7 for a very low cost, so I upgraded.

Now and then I do a lot of slide scanning and usually scan anywhere from 50 to 100 slides, then do a multiple file process to save them all into a folder.

As you know, when you do multiple scans without closing down the scanning process, that is, scan one right after another, the program numbers them automatically:

Untitled-1
Untitled-2
Untitled-3
etc

Then when they are saved, they all have those same names.

After I tweak each scan (have to reopen them all again) I save with a new unique name, usually 0001, 0002, 0003, etc.

I have been doing it this way for years - no problems.

Now - when I start using Elements 7 and scan, say, 20 slides, they come up Untitled-1 up to Untitled-20.

BUT - after I save all those and then start a fresh sequence, the first slide I scan is Untitled-21 and on up from there.

I can even close the program, reopen it and start a fresh scan sequence. Same thing - whatever the last Untitled Number was from the previous scan, this new scan starts with the next number.

I know on cameras there is a way to make the picture number recycle back to 1 after each card format. Is there some way to do this with Elements 7? I've looked everywhere and can't find anything. Probably right in front of me, but I don't see it.

Thanks!!!

That's a new one for me.
If you close PS and reopen I would think it would restart at Untitled 1 again.

I don't know of any setting in PS that could change this.
Clearing the computer's temp files.
Photoshop's temp file should automatically delete when you close PS.

That's the interesting thing. Elements 5 doesn't even have to be shut down to restart the numbering process. I only have to close the scan window and when it is reopened it starts at 1, again.
