Elements 5.0 slideshow error message

Hi folks,

I'm fairly new at Photoshop and I'm having a vexing problem with a slideshow. I have Photoshop Elements 5.0, but not Premiere Elements. I'm creating a slide show of 415 photos, and I added a soundtrack with about 10 music tracks. All the music tracks have been copied from music CDs. It works fine in Preview mode; but when I save it as a .pdf file, it won't play back with the entire soundtrack. The sound stops after about 2 tracks, and I get an error message. The error message reads:

Warning: Java Script writer
Acrobat has encountered an error while playing this media clip.

It doesn't appear to be a file size problem. I've tried saving it as a medium size file, instead of a large file, but I still get the same error message when I open the saved file. (The large file is 170 MB; the medium file is 134 MB.) Also, there doesn't seem to be a problem, if I only include 2 music tracks.

Does Elements 5.0 support this kind of soundtrack? Will it work if I get Premiere Elements 3.0? Or do I need to get Elements 6.0 and Premiere Elements 4.0? I tried calling Adobe Tech Support, but they couldn't explain it.

Many thanks,
RichW

Photoshop 5 Slideshow Error

Hi guys,

Same problem with Photoshop 5 as posted by RichW. I have a very short slideshow (13 minutes) with only 2 audio tracks both from the same CD but in different languages (Sting's Fragile and Fragilidad).

I get the error message at the transition between the two audio tracks and although the slideshow continues with no glitches, the 2nd track never kicks in and there's no audio.

Can you help please?

Being a Newbie

I just googled my way here and it looked like a pretty friendly sight and could really be helpful to me throughout my education. The only problem I see so far is nobody answers any of the questions. Is it just because we're newbies or is the whole site that way.

Elements 5 - Slideshow Error Message

I'm reposting my question from July as I haven't been able to resolve my problem yet and hope that perhaps someone on the forum will be able to assist this time.

Re: Photoshop 5 Slideshow Error

I finally gave up on trying to create my slideshow in Elements 5.0, and got ProShow Gold v3.5, instead. That worked fine, and I recommend it. I read somewhere, at that time, that most slideshow pros use ProShow and don't bother with Elements, because of all the problems. Of course, that was in 2008; I don't know whether the same problem exists with the latest version of Elements. I was also very disappointed with the response to my question from this Forum - no answers at all - same as Rusty, above.
