Specific Edit lighting

Hi Everyone.

I am hoping for a bit of assistance with the lighting in this photo. I had it printed on a canvas and it is a bit dark. I would like to be able to see my daughter a bit better. It has become a bit of tradition for us to head out for a surf at Christmas time her in Nova Scotia. I'd like to be able to have it printed a bit bigger and hopefully with better lighting.

Appreciate any edit.

I brightened the foreground and made a few other adjustments. In the second version, I also boosted the saturation.
