Last piece in my serie of four images that has been a starting point with statues trying to do the 4 elements. So this one is supposed to represent wind. It was rather easy to pick which statue I wanted to give a try, it's been one of my favorites for a long time and it's done by a french guy by the name of Jules Coutan. It's been a fun study and I wasn't thinking I would get such good response on these pictures so maybe I will do a couple more on my vacation that starts next week. (Last week at work!) :naughty:

If you have any advice on what could be better, please let me know. If you want to play around with it be my gueest, I love seeing things develope thru others! Critic is allways good!

(I think I sorted out the loss of colors with my images but click the image anyway for better resolution!)

love it , great conceptDone copy copy.jpg

good concept and manipulation but my friend i can't decide what environment are you trying to show look above at the stars, it shows your seen might be night, now my friend see mountains its look like evening or sun set, now dear see clouds its sound like rainy or spring season, now look your statue you can't decide source of light.

overall i like your manipulation technique and concept.

best of luck.

The statue, the nest, and the rocks at the base of the statue look fantastic! Not sure about the Nebula and star field. The clouds in the FG are to well developed given the perspective. They would be just faint wisps, like fog.

I would never get "wind" from this image, in fact I would get fire if I were asked to visualize an element based on this composite!

As ever, you have done a fantastic job. The only point I will make is, if it is representing wind, does the fire not just confuse the issue unnecessarily. The original has the stick behind from the wing, which makes it look like the man is using it as a weapon. In your image, it looks the wrong angle to be able to swing it round and clobber the bird.

All this trouble for an egg butty.

IamSam! Thanks for pointing out the nebula and the star field. It was a struggle coming up with something that would work in the sky since I early decided to go with a feeling of that they were high above ground in the battle. I wanted clouds to be seen in the distance and also in the foreground to give depth. The nebula is actually called "Eagle Nebula" and I thought it could be an interesting detail, but maybe it's to "out of space" and maybe should go away or be enhanced to look more like a eagle. Since I wanted the feeling later evening I had to fill up the area so I figured stars could work. Maybe I should just clear some of them out and make them less distracting. I will also try to blur the front clouds a little bit more without making it look like fog.

haha yeah, it's not a given "wind" picture but it somehow had to work since I realy wanted to try this statue. It maybe wasnt the best approch for the theme but I got this idea and could let go of it.

PRD, yeah it's a mix of a surreal moment. I aimed for a late evening feeling then the sun is about to settle while the stars started to show up in teh sky. Bad wether, yeah why not rain! Slippery stones aint to play with! But I have to agree on the light direction on the statue isnt correct to the light source, thats the hole reason for the torch to be honest haha. I was thinking about maybe adding another torch among them to correct the direction for the light but couldn't find a spot where it would fit and make sense. (Very bright stars I guees) But thank you so much!

Spruce. Thank you so much! You are so correct, how did I miss out on that, I must have have thought somehow that the stick was infront of the wing at some point and just didnt think twice about it. Hmm, might go back and put it behind.

Who doesnt get cranky without an omellete in the morning?
