Drop shadow in CMYK

Hi,

I have added a drop shadow to a box. It all looks fine but when I flatten it and convert it to CMYK the drop shadow has a harsh edge around it and isn't as smooth as when it's RGB.

Here's the CMYK:

And here's the better RGB:

Will it print ok?

Ok, I tried an experiment on printing the two different modes.




They printed almost exactly as they appeared on screen! So the drop shadow in the CMYK version had a slightly more defined edge. It's gradation was darker and had a noticeable transition from dark to light.

Yeh that's exactly what i'm getting! I wonder what the best way to solve it is?
