i'm sort of getting fed up of ubuntu, it keeps deleting my files and then fails to restore them afterwards and it is annoyingly stupid especially when some of the files are development files for mods and stuff! grrr

at the moment i'm looking for something that's fast, low requiring, and doesn't have such a stupid, annoying interface, and customizable to hell.

If you can just give some names of a distro to try, then i'll be grateful.

sounds like a nice idea, but there's no installation easy enough at the moment, so i might have to give it a pass for now, it's a great idea though, it looks good like, when i'm more advanced and more confident, i might give it a try

it is simple the only problem is compatability with photoshop I have not tried but it is lightning fast I have it on a netbook more designed for streamlined internet users and does not load up crap it is the fastest os out there.

You should be able to burn files onto a disc and make sure you put your boot sequence to disc as first boot device

yeah, i've done that with ubuntu, so it should remain the same. in that case, chrome it is. I'll see what i can do about photoshop CS5 running on it. HOPEFULLY if all else fails, ubuntu should still be bootable so i should still be able to use it.

ual boot your pc keep ubuntu on and slowly trasfer to chromium wine should still work in ubuntu

i shall, the .img file is being a numpty atm and not extracting, grr, i'll get there eventually :P

extract it using winrar or power iso or mount the image using deamontools then copy it another folder extracted

because ubuntu's lack of resposivity lately has been annoying the living hell out of me. so i just wanted to try something new. i've still got it, but it's solely for photoshop now. enjoying chrome quite a bit.
