Your sample image is too small and without much detail. It's hard to tell exactly what you are referring to as "grunge". I don't see any grunge effect. It looks more like an actual photo of a damaged Florida Gators sticker.
But here's how you might approach a more traditional grunge effect. You can do as much or as little as you like.
Start with the logo
On a new layer below the gator layer, add an ellipse behind the logo
On a new layer below the ellipse and gator layer, add a white background behind that.
Then mask out the ellipse layer with a layer mask and a grunge brush (Brush Tool).
If you're more interested in how to make the folded edges of the sticker, let me know.
