...what I've done with the place ?

Found another "old" stock image and gave it a go.

dyl-orig.jpg

Built a new corner with two other stock images and added a floor from a third.

Original image: Dreamstime (not available anymore).
Additional stock images: Renderosity - Urban Decay
Retouch, montage and artwork: JgraphNet/dkj.

Comments and critique is very welcome.

did you do that as print material or for web devises? .very interesting texture for pipes

My original is Hi-res so it's printable. The collection Urban Decay used in the montage is avalable at Renderosity -> Here
Another one in "Technicolor" is -> Here

(Sorry - just posted the same piece on a Swedish forum - Bildredigering iFokus - roughly "Image Editing in Focus")

Yes, Renderosity is mostly 3D stuff, but you can pick up quite nice backgrounds and textures for really cheap compared to other image libraries.

>tutorial on that would be awesome

Good Lord ... that would probably kill me. When I get in "The Flow" I have no idea what I'm doing to get where I go. Worse thing is when people ask me "How did you do that", 'cause I don't know. It just kind of builds itself as I go and I mostly end up with a mile long Layers Panel that's a complete mess...
So I'm not really as organized and diciplined as I try to teach others to be - but don't tell them

And thank you very much, Steve.

lol that's funny I know exactly what you mean! I get to much tunnel vision to do tuts, I see something in my head then just go for it

I like the image, looks good, thanks for posting it for us to see

Thank you, KRF !
Appreciate you commenting on it.
Since we have a Showroom - why not use it? Had just watched Matrix Revolutions for the umpteenth time so the title is an Agent Smith quote, really. Just dropped the "Mr Anderson". Seemed to make sense at the time ...

lighten-up her skin-tones just a bit...
the bright area on the wall, right-side/barrel, pulls your eyes away from her...
her white top, should be the brightest thing there, to be believable...
lightening her in general, would help, as you lost her hair into the background...
with the background as light as it is, you would have seen better separation...
do not crop-off her toes... especially since you have lots of room, in the original...
too much skin softening for my tastes... but, that is subjective...
when skin tones turn to plastic, you loose shape and contour...

simple corrections... and I like the image/composite...

Thank you all for comments. Much appreciated and useful.
For some reason I've not been notified of them since Nov 2010...

The skin is that much softened allready in the original.
I have no method for retaining allready softened skin texture and I don't want to use Noise or Filmgrain since that really looks terrible fake in my opinion.
Any pointers for a better technique to take back texture ?

Cropping is due to having three very different resolutions match up in one single image.
Not always the best solution but sometimes the only practical thing to do with the material at hand...
