What is your view on this before it was talk but now looks like the bill is going through. This will not just effect America other developed countries will follow sooner or later.

I would also Like to say I am not encouraging pirate material I am against censorship side to it.

They are promoting this sopa to protect the entertainment industry fair enough if that is all they were doing but look into it further and you will see that if we as psg have an auto rotated advert that could literally be a link to anywhere if that happened to be some youtube video that contained music it against copyright laws or a member makes there own video and it has something going in the background then PSG could get closed down and the site owners can go to jail.

So in a reality example we have all seen the spam posts we get here almost daily how to rip and convert videos blah blah blah fair enough we try our best to delete these links and posts as quick as we can but with the new sopa law it means this site can get shut down if an official sees it. And not only that Admin could get sued thousands of dollars for facilitating a place where someone can post instructions on how to rip videos. We all know very well we do not facilitate it but in there eyes we do.

If a member sets there home page to anything like a blog etc that may have pirated material on PSG is in the wrong

or even more realistic if a member edits a movie poster or similar thats right if they post the image on this site PSG is in the wrong.

My view is I am all for fighting piracy of directly downloading software music and films but sopa does not really protect the entertainment industry in that way it will only have word assosciation so you may type in wwww.downloadmovies 4 free (no idea if that is a site or not) fair enough it will block it but if you type in just the ip address it will not recognise it.

They will blacklist certain sites that can be good but can also be bad. Youtube will have to be taken down at some point as to many users will upload copyright material. Google and yahoo will also fall victim to it if they cant control what search results come up, you only have to type in photoshop etc and you get about 20 pages of pirated download links.

So major search engines get taken down so our spiders number reduces eventually if we do not come up in search engines and still survive the sopa regulation but eventually we will not be able to generate the traffic needed to fund this site so however much law abiding we try to be as a community eventually sites like this will loose out and eventually be forced to be taken off line.

ok so last paragraph may be over exagerated or at best worse case scenario but this will have a rickochet effect on the whole internet.
