Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me find tutorials for making Digital versions of the paper and cloth backdrops??

Or better still anywhere I can download them or get a program to generate them for free?

Thank you in advance for taking the time to reply !!

Is it me being stupid but I don't understand what you are looking for. "paper and cloth backdrops"...where? what?

If it is high quality stock photos you are looking for try:

If not, please try to explain what you want (do you have an example?)

Digital versions of the backdrops used in studios?

I want t make digital versions of the standard dropdown paperand cloth backdrops that studio photographers use? [innocent]

A simple answer to creating backgrounds is to pick two complementary colors of differing brightness values and use Filter > Render > Clouds (A). Then, if you wish to add a texture, you could use Filter > Texture > Texturizer. In the Texturizer you can load any grayscale .psd image and adjust the scale, relief and light direction. If you installed all the presets when you installed PS, there are many files you can use with the Texturizer found in Presets > Textures for Lighting Effects. You can also make one as I did in the little image 4. I just made a quick dark gray/white gradient, blurred it a bit and loaded it as my texture map. You load a texture by clicking on the little button which I've pointed out and then navigating to the image file you wish to use.

In addition to backgrounds, lighting of images is very important. We recently had a thread on the issue which you may find of value.

That's a good action, Bill thanks for posting it. For anyone who hasn't used the Adobe Studio Exchange before it requires a free registration to enter and is one of the premiere sites for free actions, brushes, styles, shapes and other preset elements for Photoshop, Illustrator and more. :righton:

Great sugggestios and resources Guys! You've got me hunting all over the net!

Hi DNA Eye Candy plug-in has a nice one called weave. It can go from very large to linen like. I always think of linen when the specification calls for cloth.
