I have an ebook client, book title is Every Soldier's Prayer. He wants to represent all religions in silhouette on the cover. There are no images with multi-denominational groups of people praying together. So I used multiple images, silhouetted them. It looks horrendous, like a big blob of flat black. I don't even want to show it to you because it just plain sucks. I have no ideas for this cover.:banghead:

...anyone have any ideas? ...suggestions?

We are not here to judge your work, unless you ask for it. Only here to help....

Please send in the image so we can offer you the correct help.

This always happens when someone needs a cover for their own book.
They generally want it to look too complex.
A simpler cover would work better and be easier for you to make, consider it. ^^

ABSOLUTELY TRUE!

I just went through exactly this a couple of weeks ago with the design of unified artwork for a website, a flyer, and an on-site program for a big event here in Maryland.

The organizers initial attempt used every font they could find and didn't leave one square inch on any of these documents unoccupied. They didn't want to remove anything. The discussions got quite testy and I was about to quit. Probably my most effective argument was when I pointed them that there actually was a Wikipedia article on what they were doing, ie, The Ransom Note approach to graphic design .

The final result was a compromise and I still think it's too complex / dense, but it's a lot better than what they had when they came to me.

Yes, I'm aware of all your thoughts. Getting through my clients head though...that's another matter. I did suggest the symbols to him, haven't heard a response. I am about to give my first ever refund to this guy.
Thanks
