i have a photo of a tooth with gray card and one of shades (A3 on the image):

and image with colors:

i've created an action that takes color A1 and replaces it with color below and so on with every shade. but before doing that i need gray on the image to be exact as gray on the shader or A3 shader from the photo become A3 from the image. so i adjust the colors.
my question is which method is better...is taking a photo with gray card most precise method of setting the correct white/color balance or should i take picture with white, gray and black cards together ? is it possible to adjust colors in photoshop based on all three cards?or lightroom? i need a method of taking photos of teeth to be recurrent.
