I just wanted to make a statement that I thought needed to be shared.
First of all, I am VERY new to Photoshop (I have been using it for years for making very simple web content that takes almost no skill, mostly for text) and I am just stating my own opinion, take it as you like, but I want to share it.
A couple months ago I went to Verizion and upgraded my phone using my bi-annual upgrade and upgraded to the Nokia Lumia 928 Windows Phone. I HATED it from the start, I will not go into the specific details, but going from the Samsung Galaxy Nexus to the Windows phone, well lets just say I hated it a lot. I could have taken it back to Verizon but I only paid the $30 upgrade fee (the phone itself was free) and in order to take it back there would have been a $35 restocking fee.
Instead of returning it I put it on Craigslist and stated that I wanted to trade it, preferably for some type of computer hardware that I can use.
3 days later I got contacted by a doctor who wanted to get his niece a phone and had 2 of these Dell U2410 monitors sitting at his house that had not been used for over a year, and before that they were only used for 2 months, and then his wife decided she wanted a Mac computer instead with the 30" screen that came with it. He offered to trade me one of the monitors for the phone and, of course, I could not make the trade fast enough!
I have 2 monitors and a 40" TV now connected to my computer.
1. Dell U2410 24" (1920/1200)
2. HP 21.5" (1920x1080)
3. Sharp Aquos 40" LCD TV (1920x1080)
Now, why am I telling you this. First, I like to tell a good story when I have one to tell . Second, I can not believe how much better things look in Photoshop on the Dell monitor! I took some really large high resolution photographs and loaded them up in Photoshop and then dragged the program to each screen and made it full screen. The difference is staggering!
The colors and natural look on the Dell is outstanding. In the settings for the monitor one of the Preset Modes is "Adobe RGB". I am not fluent with all of that stuff yet, but I am guessing it was built into the monitor to specifically go with Adobe products and video and image editing.
Morale of the story, if you can get one you should (I know not everyone will have the chance to get one for $30). I wish there was a way I could show you all the difference in quality, if someone knows a way please let me know and I gladly will (I don't think taking pictures with my point and shoot cameras will do the trick).
Thanks for reading!!
