Hi PSG; I'm, as you noticed, new here, and I need help with re-creating this custom shape:

It's that star-like coloured behind those guns, you can see it clearly in the middle image
I tried editing a circle but it got terrible wrong, so can you guys, please, help me?

thanks in advance!

This isn't precisely the shape you want, but here's the basic idea.

1. Start with a shape that looks something like this...

Star1.jpg

2. Go to Filter>Distort>Twirl and choose whatever setting you like (I used 200 degrees), which gives you this. Then apply a blur or any other effect you want.

Hello and welcome to PSG.

It's not exact but it's easy.................

Select your Custom Shape Tool.
Open your Custom Shape picker in the Tools Options Bar (at the top) and select the twisted star shape.
Set the fill color to the color you want.
Create your star on the canvas.

Go to FILTER > RADIAL BLUR then click
It will ask to rastorize the layer, say yes.

Then set the blur to these settings....

Fairly close.

You could also use the twisted star shape to make a selection.
Turn off the Star shape layer (click the eye).
Create a new layer and leave it highlighted.
Hold the Cmd/Cntrl key and click on the twisted star layers thumbnail.

Go to SELECT > MODIFY > FEATHER feather the selection about 1.8

Select your Brush Tool, select a color and paint away!
