ok, so, i downloaded a brush set of numerous trees, but..when i put a tree in the pic, its either pitch black or pitch white\transparent, i know how to change the color, but i want to know how to make it look like a REAL TREE. not one solid color, but real looking.

for the record----i got photoshop cs3 extended.

I'm new at Photoshop, but I have the same one that you do. I don't know if there really IS anyway to make a brush different colors other than: using maybe green for the tree and THEN find a small round brush with the soft edge, change to brown, and actually paint along the brush print. I've done this before and it's not as hard as it sounds. You can actually zoom the image in, THEN paint it. That way when it's back to normal size, you won't even notice if you make a small mistake. Hope that helps!

Kim =)

Kim's assumption is correct; there is no way to do what you're saying with just a brush. All brushes are always just one color, so you'll still need to do some coloring on your tree no matter what.

Your best bet would probably be to find a good image of a tree....if you know what kind you want, I'm sure wikipedia would probably have one, or at least someone on google ;)
