Hope I posted this in the right forum??

I'm new to photoshop and I'm having a heck of a time trying to produce a silhouette image that I can use for a stencil.

The problem is, I have to make it curve so that when I apply the stencil onto a lampshade with a teepee shape.

Can someone tell me how to curve the image without distorting the image?

Or is there a better way?

Thanks

Do you have the truncated cone template created with the exact dimensions of the lampshade?

Like this?

Can you post the silhouette?

Once you have the template, you define the area in which to place the silhouette.

Place your silhouette in the required space using free transform (Cmd/Cntrl + T).

Right click within the transform box and choose Skew or Distort.

Adjust the transform handles to fit the box. This will maintain perspective but it will distort the silhouette slightly.

Right click again and choose Warp.
Use the transform handles to warp/curve the silhouette to fit the box.

If you don't care about perspective and are only concerned with distortion, you can skip "distort" step and jump to the warp step. This gives the curve without perspective. It may look off when the cone is rolled.

Thank you for the tutorial.

I would like to try it right now but I managed to break my little toe this morning and my concentration level is a little low.

Will try to work on it this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

Thanks again
