Cursor moving too far

Hi again, I'm still playing around with CS-2 on the Mac and have got a question about adjusting how much the cursor will move, can't seem to find a place to adjust it.
I had cut out an object from one photo and was trying to place it on another photo. However it dosn't seem to want to move exactly to the place I would like to put it. The increments seem to be large when I try to move it around.
I'd appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks

Here is a quick tip, on the receiving document Make a small or large rectangle marquee where you want to drop the new object, then just drag and drop and the object will be centered within the selection you made.
that worked in the lower versions. I haven't had a opportunity or need since I upgraded to CS2.

Thanks Nitro I'll try that but I might have the same problem if it isn't just where I want it to be once I've pasted it. I won't know if it is in the right place where I want it until it has been pasted.

You might need to turn off the smart guides (the purple lines that helps you to align objects) or some snapping options.

Thanks Spectre I'll see if that works and let you know.

Another idea is to move the object with the arrow keys rather than dragging. Holding down the Shift key when hitting an arrow moves the object 10 pixels per keystroke. No Shift key, one pixel per keystroke.

Hi Spectre, and Welles. Sorry I'm so late getting back to you but was out of town for awhile. Anyway just wanted to thank you both for the suggestions, everything worked just fine.
