Hi,

No matter what setting, the end mp4 video will allways have black vertical margins. I never have this problem when generating videos with Quicktime using the same source.

The source dimension is 4256x2832, and specifying this as output size will also create the bars.

Hi Morten and welcome.

I'm certain there's a question here!

Since I don't know where you are your learning process on this technique, read this information on Image Sequencing to make sure your selecting the proper options when exporting.

What is the source file type?

Can you post a screen shot of your settings when you export?

Can you post the .PSD?

1: Source is 4256x2832 jpeg.

2:
CS6 settings: rosmo01-01.png, Quicktime settings: rosmo01-02.png.

3: I'd rather not upload psd to public, it's also 54MB, so most likely exceeds attachment size.

I can't offer much help as I can not recreate the issue in my Photoshop. I also have done a fairly exhaustive internet search on the matter and came up with nothing. Sorry. I believe it may have something to do with the size of your source files.

I can upload the psd if you have a link. I've tried to upload a 7zip of 40MB here, but it does not work and there's no info on max size to work with either.

Even Iphone 5 doesn't shoot with a resolution of 1280x720 (it's 8 megapixel), so that's not relevant, my old Nikon D70 has 3008x2000 (6 megapixel).

I know this!

Process of elimination. Did you try resizing your images?

Forcing a resize of source images to 1280x720 will generate a movie without bars, but that's not how timelapse videomaking is done.

If PS13 video rendering prerequisite is to create resized source images of every aspect ratio/output size, it's incredibly counterproductive, and not documented anywhere.

Quictime Pro has had no issues with this for many years, and with an expensive product like PS13 it's quite frustrating there is not even an check for "Crop to fill" as in LR5.
