Part of my job involves making rotating gifs, which in older versions of Photoshop was a snap to do in ImageReady. We got CS3 a bit ago and I've been running into issues with the new animation set up. To make the rotating gif I basically have to bring in an image sequence of 20-40 odd frames and remove the backgrounds, mess with the timing, etc. For this the animation bar has to be in 'frame animation' mode, but whenever I open an image sequence it automatically opens it as a timeline animation, which means I can't edit individual frames, or change their speed. Trying to switch from timeline to frame animation after the sequence has been opened changes it into a smart object which is also uneditable.
Basically my question is: How do you open an image sequence as a frame animation in CS3?
I'm assuming (could be wrong) that there has got to be a simple way to do this, it seems kind of ridiculous that there wouldn't be, seeing as it was so easy in past versions. Any help would be appreciated because I'm stumped on this one. Thanks.
