CS3 crashing on Save or Save As

I cannot create any new file with CS3 and do a save or save as without it crashing. I get the generic "PhotoShop quit unexpectedly..." This happens ALWAYS whether scanning an image or creating a new vector file. I went to the Adobe Knowledgebase & could find no soultions.

Here are my specs. What else can I provide to help solve this problem?

PhotoShop CS3 updated to 10.0.1
Mac Pro with 3 GB RAM
OSX 10.5.6 Leopard
