CS3 Bridge Crash & Burn

I am running photoshop CS3 on a Mac OSX. I shoot Nikon and recently bought a D700. I have liked the bridge/photoshop combo but since the addition of my D700 it runs slower than... and it crashes endlessly. Yesterday it just stopped reading my RAW files from my 700 all together. (still reads my D80 files)

I tried reinstalling photoshop, updating, clearing my cache, trashing my plist, separating and deleting files but it is still running terrible and not reading all my files.

To add injury to insult Adobe won't talk to me without charging me 40 bucks because there is a newer version of photoshop out. I can't imagine paying $700.00 for a program and then not having tech support on it! Someone needs to knock Adobe off their corner of the market, that's just not right.

So I am loosing precious time and of course I am slammed right now. Can someone give me a solution to my problem?

What is wrong? Is my camera not compatible with Bridge? If so what is my solution, I really did not like Nikon's software. If it is some setting in Bridge can you walk me through it, I am not a guru, just a simple photographer.

Thanks so much for any help,
Cindi

CS3 bridge crash and burn

I am having the same problem as Cindi.
I have windows, vista and shoot with a Canon 40D and just recently started shooting raw and started noticing the program running slower, But as of Jan. 22, the program just crashes with in a minute of opening. I to took the same steps as Cindi to try to fix the problem.
I to am upset with Adobe it seems like it was not that long ago that I bought the program and to upgrade 599.
Sad little duck with a lot of working piling up.

little duck

my problem is fixed! i completely uninstalled photoshop, reinstalled it and did an auto update (under "help" on the toolbar) rather than the manuel update.

the problem was with the camera raw, i did not have the updated version that supported my camera. when i installed the updated version, i accidentally got two versions in there. (not good!)

i got help from adobe user forum, on adobe website. the moderator finally was the one who helped me, he worked for adobe, he was awesome. he also suggested to clear my cache regularly, said the program did not handle this well at all. that should help it run more smoothly.

hope this helps,
Cindi
