hi, i'm new to the forum.

i've just hooked up a second screen to my computer. I am using CS2, and i really like the extra working space, but after a while working on a drawing, photoshop crashes when i click the color boxes at the bottom of the tools pallette. This has happened 5 times so far. I have never had this problem before when i was using one screen, so i think the multi screen is probably the cause, one way or another.

i have 1 gigabyte of RAM and an Nvidea Gforce graphics card, with the most up to date driver installed.
Anyone had this same problem? Are there any settings i need to change in Photoshop? Is there a way i can find out the cause of the crashes in a log file?

i've been fooling around with settings a bit, i've set the graphics card to a full horizontal desktop (it treats the two screens as one wide screen, basically) instead of an extension. The task bar is now across two screens (and my browser window covers two screens as well, which is a bit much ;)... i haven't had any crashes anymore.
Yesterday i had a whole bunch of crashes when i tried to play videos (before i changed the graphics card settings), so i think the problem is more in the graphics card department than having to do with photoshop. I'm going to try to reproduce the crashes in photoshop, but maybe this problem is fixed.
That being said, i liked the single screen desktop + extension better than the double screen horizontal desktop, i think, but if this new setting stops the crashing, that is fine by me for the moment.
(Any better suggestions are welcome though.)

ok i cheered too soon, it still crashes, tells me photoshop has experienced a serious errror and needs to shut down. any clues??
I'd really appreciate it if someone can give me a pointer on how to work this one out.

here's what i have (it's a custom built machine, put together by the shop)

- Intel Core 2 Duo E6300, 1,86 Ghz
- ASUS motherboard P5V-VM DH
- graphics card ASUS/Nvidia Geforce 7300 LE
- 3 Gb of RAM, Corsair DDR2 667
- 320 Gb HD, Western Digital
- running Windows XP Media Center Edition

edit: my current graphics card driver is 91.31, i've checked on the site of Asus for a new driver, but there are different ones for XP and i don't know which to pick. There's a 94.24 and 93.71, and another few starting with 169.

any clues very much appreciated!
