Crop an image with specific proportions

How can I crop an image if I am given certain proportions, like 16x7 or 4x3?

Hi TeodoraP and welcome to PSG.

Use the Crop Tool and enter the dimensions in the tools options bar in the aspect ratio window.

Thanks, but I have an older version, CS2, and I can only introduce a certain number of pixels or in inches. The assignment requires to crop an image 16x7, with the width of 1000px, and another image in portrait mode, 4x3, and I can't seem to be able to do that.

CS2 will crop in the same way that I described.

Also, cropping an image and re-sizing an image are different. Make sure you understand which is being asked of you.
