Hey guys.

I've been handed the task of creating a new logo for my Committee at my University. We're in charge of setting up parties and various events for our semester.

Only problem is that we've been lacking a proper logo for the last year, that we've existed, and as I'm the only one with photoshop skills in the committee, it was decided that i should create it. Problem is though - I've hit rock bottom.

Our Committee's name is " Ninkasi ". This is the best that I've come up with, but I dont like it at all! It doesn't represent our objectives as a committee for parties and events at all, IMO.

The monkey picture is essential, as it is what represents us - but how to make a cool logo out of it though?

Whats your idea on this?
Thanks!

Hey Paul!

Haha, very nice! I like the chosen colors!

Do you, however, have any idea's on how to improve the logo in general? For instance, I fear that the flame vectors doesn't fit, but what to do instead of those?

Haha wow - this might actually be considered legit due to the humoristic touch!

But i'd still like some more inputs  Not necessarily a picture, but written ideas work well too - Go Photoshop Gurus!

A good logo is simple and direct. Maybe you should make a frame around the circle, bevel it, and shrink those flames to fit inside it. If you need the flames at all that is. Do they have a significance? Then I would choose a more plain and simple text. You already have the fancy in the logo so balance that with something simple. Those are suggestions for what you have now.

If you want something different, you might want to consider a large text logo and incorporate a smaller chimp design.Kind of like this. Not real clean on those flames!
