Creating custom color gradient text from top to bottom

Please help! I need step by step gradient text instructions for Photoshop WITH TWO CUSTOM COLORS GOING FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.

How do I (instead of using the preset color choices) make a custom gradient? I am trying to create text with a top to bottom gradient of green (#228B22) down to aqua (#40E0D0). Help would be MUCH appreciated! :)

Make the colors ur foreground(green) and background(aqua) colors,
gradient tool(G) right click inside the canvas
Click the first preset then click in the image and drag UP

Thank you! I couldn't get it to work exactly as you said (by dragging up) but I created the custom gradient based on your instructions, then selected the layer and used Layer-> Layer Style-> Gradient Overlay and chose/applied my custom gradient, which was then in the pull-down menu. :)
