Creating a Circle Gradient Wipe Effect

Hey guys, I was making a website and I wanted to make a pattern that looks like one colour turning into another colour by way of small circles increasing in size. I've created a small mock-up of the type of effect that I want to make, and I was wondering if you could at least tell me the name of the effect, or how to do it. But for some reason it doesn't let me post the image.

Halftone is the effect. Lots of tutorials on this effect on YouTube, and there is a filter on Photoshop that does it to a degree.

This is the second in a small collection of tuts. This one is most relevant to you, but I suggest watching them all.
