Hello Guys

How to create shaded lines drawings for patent application? All the curved surfaces need to have a lines that shows the curve. Please see the attached drawing for example.

i believe there's application from corel called DESIGNER Technical Suite, made for that kind of drawings. i don't have experience with it, but someone else may be able to help you out. autodesk has got professional level applications for the same task.

Pysiek,

As ibis stated, Ps may not be the best choice for this task.

Every Ps drawing starts with some form of reference, such as a photograph, to use as a template in order to render using the Pen Tool (stroke path with brush, pencil, etc) just as Remote-Medic stated.

Take a photo of the object to be patented.
Drop into Ps, reduce it's opacity.
Open a new layer.
Use the Pen Tool to outline. Stroke Path with brush.

I use autocad and Rhino etc. for 2d/3d models as well, and Rhino is similar to the use of Autocad. I guess Penguin plug-in for Rhino application can render a view like your picture and , which I have not

must Search for rhino in google :)

I have used Corel Designer Tech Suite once in one of my professor's laptop. Yes, that would be ideal to do this kinda job for you mate. Cheers

I forgot to add that I do have a .jpg .bmp files of the drawing and need to convert it to shaded lines drawing.

So are you now asking for someone to do it for you, even though members have taken the time to help show you how to do it?

No. I still don't know how to do it. I downloaded rhino but never used it before . And members said that Photoshop might not be the best choice to do that.
