Yes............

This will be in two parts.

Part 1 - Making a brush.

Step 1 - Open a large document. (1400 x 800 px) Place a guide in the center.

Step 2 - Choose your BRUSH TOOL and select a size 6 hard brush.
s02.png

Step 3 - Press D on your keyboard. This sets the foreground and background colors to black and white.
s03.png

Step 4 - Grab your PEN TOOL and make two anchor points, one at the top of the vertical guide and one at the bottom. ( I added the extra guide lines for demonstration.)
s04.png

Step 5 - Right click next to the line and choose, stroke path.
s05.png

Step 6 - Make sure "Brush" and "Simulate Pressure" are checked. Hit OK.
s06.png

Step 7 - This is what you should have.........
s07.png

Step 8 - Clear your guide(s). VIEW > CLEAR GUIDES (You can also go to the Paths panel and click anywhere outside the path layer to turnoff the path. Go back to the layers panel.)
s08.png

Step 9 - Select your RECTANGULAR MARQUIS TOOL......
s09.png

.......and make a selection around the tapered line.

Step 10 - Go to EDIT > DEFINE BRUSH PRESET
s11.png

and name your brush........click OK. Your done making the brush!

Part 2 - The effect.

Step 1 - Open a new document of whatever size you like.

Step 2 - Fill this with black.

Step 3 - Create a new layer.

Select your BRUSH TOOL. Choose the Tapered Line Brush we just made.

Open the BRUSH PANEL. And make your settings as you see here. (note: my shape dynamics is checked because of my tablet. The adjustments here are all set to 0 (zero).

Step 4 - Make sure you foreground color is set to white (press the X key)

Work slow and deliberate and make a zig zag pattern with the brush. Keep going until done! You can change the brush size if wanted by pressing the right and left bracket keys.

Work in a slow zig zag pattern.

Stay centered and be careful where your placing the lines. Place them ONE click at a time if needed! Remember, you can always back up using OPTION + CMD/CNTRL + Z!!

ss02.png

As you become content with how the edges look, focus on the center area. I use the bracket keys on the keyboard to decrease the size of the brush by one or two clicks. I also added a guide line to remind me where the center is.

ss03.png

As I'm getting close to being done I decrease the spacing and the size of the brush and just make up and down strokes in the center until its filled in!

ss04.png

The entire image is created with that one single brush!
Done!
