Nice fun composition Sean agree with Shark on this 1 the eyes do look a bit stuck on.

Just apply a layer mask and use a medium sized soft brush and paint in black at a low opacity just to slightly blend the eyes into the apple a bit more.

This is an awesome idea, though I would have used Liquify filter to manipulate the apple to look like it had eye sockets and cheeks.
A bit like this:-

Maybe adding eye lashes and shaping the eyes to look like they are under eye lids helps?

And add a burn around the face/eye edge to create shade.
