What do you have to do when you get this error message

"Could not complete the request because of a program error"

The request was to save or save as.

Do I need to find the CD and erase the program and
reload it again?

Thanks for the advice

Do you have it a lot? If not, then just ignore it, there are no computers without glitches, although some still believe in fairy tales. :\

It has only done it this once, but it won't go away. I can't save anything at all.
Therefore I can't ignore it. I have tried shutting down the computer and restarting
but to no avail.

Try scanning your drive for errors; if you use Windows, right click on your drive in explorer, click tools and click on the Check now... button, check "Automatically fix system errors" and click start.

Gaussian
I'm having a problem with the command...
"Right click on your drive in explorer"

I don't see anything that says "drive"
I right click on everything and the list is...

Standard buttons
Address Bar
Links
Lock the Tool Bars
Yahoo Companion
Google
pdf machine
Windows live tool bar
Ask tool bar
_______________
Lock tool bars
customize

what Gaussian means to say is: right click on your C drive in windows explorer and select properties then tools :)

I also recommend doing this for any additional drives you may have. As well as defragment (next one down)

Oh yes, now THAT makes sense. I tried it and it didn't solve the problem. I also tried System Restore and no matter what date I choose it says it can't restore to that date. I have run my virus and anti-spyware programs.

Any other suggestions?

C'mon hey, be fair, it's not my fault that you don't have any basic Windows XP skills. If I ask you to "right click on your drive" in explorer (I didn't say "right click drive" so that you could have been confused with a text label) and you don't know what to do, then don't blame me for not being accurate enough, I just asked my 13 year old daughter and she knew exactly what to do. :\

Any helpful comments?

Now in addition to that problem I 'm getting
a error message that says...

"Cannot open the document because an
unknown or invalid jpeg marker type is found"

Thanks for the help

I use a mac and I also get the program error on occasion, so it must be a PS problem, reinstall is unfortunately the most likely option. The unknown jpeg marker error is usually a corrupt file or you are try to open an image that is not a jpeg.

First of all, your situation is vague because you didn't provide much detail. How long have you been having this problem, do you remember making any significant changes that could have possibly lead to this? what were you exactly trying to save?

There are different reasons for program errors. Some may be because of outdated drivers, some because of manufacturer/developer problems, and sometimes it can also be because of incompatibility issues. Additionally, corrupt files can also lead to program errors.
