I believe s setting is off somewhere,I used to be able to do this why is it that I cannot copy text from the web and paste it to an image in Photoshop? For instance, if I copy the preceding sentence on a web page and pasted to an image in Photoshop the message that comes up is this:
Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 9.11.40 AM.png (clipboard is not empty) but Photoshop thinks it is.
It's not often that I do this procedure, any clues as to what to look for? Or is this normal?

have you pasted it in a text editor to check it is actually text. many websites use fonts that are not web safe fonts and the text is actually converted to an image format and making it uneditable, so a text editor can not read or recongnise the characters.

If you can paste it into a program like notepadd ++ sometimes it can resample it back to text format and then you can copy and paste that into photoshop.

I've done that, still doesn't paste in ps

Dad, try creating a text box first then past in the text.

I am not sure what is going on, but I cannot paste from my clipboard within Photoshop other applications have no problem.....:frown:

I have even reset PS

iPop, just so I'm clear...........(for example) your trying to copy and paste text from, lets say, this post (ie; web browser).......into an image which is open in Photoshop even with the text tool selected?

Like this....

Exactly...... I know all about how other websites use pictures instead of text but even when I copy text from an email it won't paste even TextEdit application and notes... it's getting very frustrating

I should know this, but are using a PC or a Mac?

Mac, Mac!....... I mean Sam!

Ok, next question.........what browser are you using?

Safari but I tried it on Google Chrome still nothing

I found a thread that claims Chrome and Safari are the culprits.............says to close the browser and try to paste.

.......Having the same issue in CS5 - copy from Illustrator, paste in Photoshop. I closed Safari (5.1) and it pasted fine. I've had similar issues before which were resolved by closing a browser. In my experience, suspect browsers have been Chrome and Safari. Not sure why this occurs, but something to try next time. :-).......

I would think if I have something on my clipboard from Safari or chrome once I quit those programs the clipboard is going to empty, I'll give it a go

It didn't work same window different text. I believe it said this time "program error"

Screen Shot 2013-08-06 at 1.58.16 PM.pngI'm seeng a problem with my vram now I have to step away from the keyboard before I throw this thing out the window :banghead:

I know how you feel! I've been there!

Well I tried to help.........I hope it's not too serious of a problem! Good luck and please refrain from the throwing part!

Try creating a text box 1st, and pasting the text into that. Unless you already tried this.

I suggested that earlier. I think he tried that.
