I have created an image on a document sized 14.5*10 cm. I am trying to copy the whole image to a new A4 document and it looks tiny or very fuzzy (if resized). Why is the image tiny when the document size is not that much different? Any advice appreciated.

First off:

Why is the image tiny when the document size is not that much different?

This is most likely due to the resolutions of the two images being different. The photo you are dealing with I would guess to be at 72 ppi. Your new A4 document is most likely 300 ppi. Try opening your original and going to Image>Image Size and taking note of the resolution. Then make your new A4 document with the same resolution.

Now, as for your fuzziness, try resizing the original to the proper size BEFORE copying it over. First, make a copy of the original image by going to Image>Duplicate.

A dialog will open and name your new copy to whatever you like and click OK.

Now, go to Image>Image Size. In that dialog box, select the dimensions you want and make sure you select Bicubic Smoother (Best for enlargement)". Click on OK.

Your image will still be a bit fuzzy because you are enlarging it. Try using sharpening methods, such as filters, to improve it. However, it's doubtful you'll get the clarity of the original.

Maybe someone else can give you pointers on that.

Hope it helps,
Dave
