Copy layer style greyed out - driving me insane!

Hi

I have 5 layers of the same image for a spot-the-difference competition.

On layer 3 I want to make a few more adjustments so it is shown on the final 2 layers as well. I can't work out how to do it. However, I want to try making the extra adjustments and than right-clicking on that layer to select 'copy layer style' and then paste on the remaining 2 layers. That option is ALWAYS greyed out.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm not quite sure I follow but the first thing that came to my mind, check image mode

My image mode is RGB colour.

Ok, all 5 layers are duplicates of the original. I deleted a flower from my image on layer 3. I now want to make a few more adjustments to where I removed that flower on layer 3 to make it look better. However, those further changes are not shown on layers 4 and 5 when I switch them on because I only made the changes to layer 3. How do I fix this?

Select the changes you made copy it past it over the layer that you want to add it to and then merge those layers
