I took this with my phone using a HDR effect app. I did some tweaking on it in Photoshop til I got something that looked decent. I think it came out fairly good.

Yes I do know it's not a true HDR effect.

I like how it turned out. Still trying to find a good used DSLR for a good price. Keep checking Ebay and other sites. Can find just the camera body no problem, it's finding a camera body and lens together that's giving me trouble.

Those are good cameras, unfortunately getting one is out of the question for a while. Spent too much on vacation this past weekend. Totally worth it though. What little money I have left, I'm trying to hold on to. Simply cause I have to get my a$$ home.

I Hear you! I finally broke down and bought a body with two lenses, picked up a power strobe..Good deals do abound on clean Pentax gear...I have shot Aisha optical for 40 years...great priced glass.

Maybe one day I'll get one. Think I'd rather get back home first. Could get a point and shoot, but I like the things you can do with a DSLR.

It's a great shot, but if it were mine, I would crop it much, much tighter, mostly to get rid of all the extra foreground and background that pulls your eye away from the subject. Doing so also makes the vanishing point of the lines on the car seem to be closer to the lower LH corner of the (new) frame.

I would also decrease the visual importance of the background by some combination of blurring, desaturation, darkening, add some grain, etc. I would also add some depth-of-field type blurring to the pavement under the car. If I had lots more time, I would get rid of the power lines, power pole, and the big tree growing up out of the center of the truck. Doing so might allow one to loosen up the crop which would otherwise be useful.

Finally, I would clean up the bright spots on the paint and make the blue of the car more uniform and deeper in areas where it had been losing saturation.

Just some thoughts.
