Converting CMYK to RGB

Hi,

I am trying to create a header for my enewsletter in Photoshop. I want to put the logo on top of a background of the same colour as my logo. I have the CMYK ref for the logo, and this looks fine when I print it out. However, when viewed online or just on the computer - the background red is slightly brighter than in print.

I have tried using an RGB converter to change CMYK to RGB but this hasn't done anything.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks!

CMYK profiles have much smaller color gamuts than RGB profiles.
Converting to RGB won't change the existing colors.

Going forward you can now add new colors not available with CMYK.

Could you please explain how I do that? I'm a relative novice to this Photoshop lark!

I just need to know how to make the background the same colour as my logo.

Thanks again!

Use the eyedropper tool to sample the color on your logo.
If you're creating a new layer for the background, now switch to that layer and use the paint bucket tool and fill the entire background layer with the selected color.

If that doesn't answer your question, posting your logo here by clicking on
insertimage.png
on the tool bar would help.

Edit:
I see you have 14 posts, you you can also link to the logo.

My God - was it really that simple?!

Thanks so much mate - really grateful for your help!

Believe it or not I'm meant to be good with computers! :)
