I am launching a site for our clients. The language is swedish so I realize that most of you won't have a clue what it's all about so let me give you a short introduction.

The site is a place where our clients can get information about upcoming events that our company arrange. It can be anything from informal mettings (e.g. introductions to digital cameras) to courses and seminars (e.g. photoshop courses).

In the future there will be a forum to discuss different client-orientated subjects. Thats why the top menu looks a bit funny.

I wanted to give the site a feeling of "afterwork", late night, etc. I also wanted to make something different from the normal head-with-logo-and-menu-to-the-right thing.

What do you say, does the design work? (I know that the right-most menu item doesn' work)

I think it looks fine. I get a 'late night' kinda vibe from it. Nice job.

Only suggestion is that you center the layout better. Even viewed at 8x6 the layout is aligned closer to the left side than the right.

Other than that, i think it does what you want it to. :righton:

Thanks for your comments. I have a resolution of 1280x1024 and to me the site is aligne to the left with a small margin. I realize that if you have less resolution it probably looks as if it was badly centered. I'll (a) center it or (b) move it even more to the left. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for all the kind comments. I think I will keep this design and start working on the content.

Your design is very effective visually and the CSS positioning makes the coding very clean and simple. The only thing that comes to mind would be to place a 10px - 20px border above and below the page so that the background image shows through at the top and bottom of the page, which makes it clear where the page starts and ends. It's just a personal preference of mine that you may like to experiment with perhaps.

I really like your coding and design style! :righton:
