I've done some homework with Photoshop but thats sadly it. Now I'm trying something and it won't work with me.

I try to combine 2 flags like these
uk_usa_flag.gif

But with the 2 flags as attachement.

It cost me lots of energie, mouses and keyboards and so far no luck at all. Photoshop does not what I ask for..............
If possible I would like to get the flags like they are waving in the wind but this is far to hard for me.

Anybody who can help me? I found tutorials all over the internet but I'm still swearing. Thanks for your help!

Will have a play, I made something similar last time I read this thread but got sidetracked. Will see what I can come up with.

I would suggest trying the filter>distort>wave feature, then palying around with the transform> warp to perfect this. Or just do transform warp. Give that a try and see what you come up with.

Thank you for your reply. I've found al kinds of tutorials but I didn't manage to get it close to what I would like. It's like drawing a picture. I'm not good at it as well. And thats just the niced way to say I can't draw.

Warp tool mate, move them anyway you want then paste the two images together, and heck you can then warp both of them some more if you wish.

Elrosso,

Clare and Paul have both explained ways to re-create this wavy flag effect, neither of which require drawing. So please answer one of the two following questions so we can all be clear about your request:

Are asking for help to learn how to create this effect?

Are you asking for someone to create the effect for you?

Very good Chitkaran! The star on the Myanmar flag is a little to distorted, but a good job nonetheless!

Exceptional job as usual!

Saving the "middle piece" pen tool selection to a channel was a very odd step to me. Then you made a grey template on its own layer which you placed between the flags. You can command/control + click this grey template layer to make a selection without going back to the saved channel. So I'm curious if there's an advantage in saving it the way you did?

Also, on a Mac, anytime your in free transform, you can right click within the bounding box to open a drop down menu and choose warp. You can do this with all the transform functions before you hit the check mark or hit enter. I don't know if you can do that on a the PC.

I think it's very interesting how we all interpret and perform certain functions so differently.

PS - I do realize some things are done intentionally to aid with instruction.
