Hello, I would like to change colour of the white lorry to be like the Orange lorry, l (second picture attached.)

The reason I want to do this, is the company in the second picture got bought out by the company in the first picture, and I want to reminsce!

What is the best way to I change the colour? I have had a play already and can't get it to change colour as I want.

Thank you

Mark

Why would the white mixer company want to take on the old companies colour scheme?

They don't! Cemex bought them out and rebranded them all. Readymix was a major player once. I want to do this as I grew up as a kid loving these trucks! I love the orange ones!

There are virtually thousands of tutorials available on the net on the subject of changing the color of vehicles with Photoshop.

This is a matter of masking the areas you would like to change and adding a Hue &Saturation adjustment layer, with or without colorize, to change the color. Or a color fill layer.

There's many ways to do this.........what have you tried and let's see your results.

I used the color grabber tool and grabbed a not too dark, not too light orange from the orange vehicle,

I then used the colour replacement tool on the masked lorry, as you can see, I would like the lorry to have the same painted effect all over it, just like the orange one, rather than the stained one I have created, completely removing the blue and red stripe outlines, what should I try?

Thanks

Mark

I found a entirely white vehicle to start with, then masked and applied Hue and Saturation layers as advised by you Sam, I couldn't get the tex on the drum quite right not the ladder, but I am pleased. Thanks

This looks really good. The color is a bit over saturated and the highlights are missing, but overall a good job. I would consider removing the color from the rims. The text on the drum looks OK, but you needed to consider that you were dealing with three different planes, and the text needed to be proportionate to those planes.

They don't! Cemex bought them out and rebranded them all. Readymix was a major player once. I want to do this as I grew up as a kid loving these trucks! I love the orange ones!

Give them time, everything will be white...They also bought my local Redi Mix and now (4 years) all are white with Cemex logos

Thanks Sam, I tried to get the text to work on the planes but I'll have to have another go,
the over saturatedness of this almost burns out your retinas!

The highlights definitely need working on, as the drum looks quite flat, how would I go about that?

Mike, its a shame the Readymix brand disappeared.
