Why does PS change images in such an immense way when i load, for example, a screenshot (as to compared to using PrintScreen to capture a screen).

Here's an example:

hxxp://piclair.com/data/iyv6p.jpg

(Just a random screen i took now from blender and a tree model). First screen is How it actually looks for me (i used printscreen to capture it and pasted it into PS). Second image is an image that has been captured by FRAPS and then loaded into PS.

I mean the difference is enormous and completely off when loading the image as opposed to pasting it in. How do i stop PS from making this color managing of images (or whatever it is doing).

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, mkutra.

Hard to say having not tried FRAPS or come across a review regarding this quirk.

Unless the FRAPS capture displays color differently..... a crazy thought that could be wrong....

It's not just .jpg's captured by FRAPS.. i compared with a .DDS texture i did and the colors are much more saturated in PS compared to opening it up in Windows Picture Viewer.

I think this color managing thing is extremely difficult to grasp. One hand there's the color settings in Windows 7, and PS seems to have numerous ones too, AND there's color info in the picture itself it seems. How can one even begin to grasp what's going on and which color is the "true" color ?
