Colorizing an image with transparency

Hello again :)

I was making an image, and I needed to adjust color balance specifically in each - and I came up with a problem: If an image in a different layer, has transparency, I cannot adjust its color balance. How can I bypass this? Thanks in advance.

could you explain a bit more, not sure I follow you.

Are you colorizing a B&W image or adjusting color, your subject says colorize your question is about color balance adjustments.

This may work for both situations but more information would really help.

Create a new layer and put it at the bottom of the other layers.
Set the layer property to Color.
If the transparent area of the image will be all the same color, use the Paint Bucket tool and fill it that color.
If transparent areas will be different colors paint the color in with the brush.

This background color layer can be adjusted separately from the rest of the image.
