What are the difference between using cymk color mode
and rgb color mode.

I noticed that it seems that you can't apply some filiters when the mode is cymk(or is it cmyk)

Thanks

There has been quite a lot of discussion about this on the forum in the past, try and do a search and you will find a kinds of info. 8))

It depends in part on the printer. Most of the cheaper inkjets will only have C, M and Y inks. More expensive ones may have black (K) too. CMYK is really only for when you're talking printing presses and repro bureaux.
RGB - is for all other stuff.
Take care :)

That's way way way over simplified. I would consider doing some serious research on these forums and on google to get a better understanding of the differences and uses of each.

In response, most inkjets use C, M, Y, and K inks.. but they use RGB files. You gave a good rule of thumb though, CMYK files are generally reserved for professional printing presses.

My rule of thumb for beginnerrs is if you don't know the difference work in RGB until you do. ;) If you need to do some kind of press work, then the printing house needs to tell you exactly what settings to use.

Yes, I'd say that if you work on CYMK, you know why...

So, stick with RGB! (but if you really want to have all filters in CYMK, you can run them on each channel, or duplicate the image, convert to RGB, run the filter, then drag and drop back to the CYMK one (! color will be altered by doing so)
