We are looking for help, as we do not have the ability to edit an important photo ourselves. Our goal in editing the photo is to help a friend, who is very ill. She has anorexia, and is losing a tremendous amount of weight, but is too afraid to ask for help. She has sent us a photo, that she will allow us to send to her doctor, if we can remove some writing from her leg.
She is the most precious person, and is suffering from anorexia not due to body image but due to the death of her husband due to illness. She is trying very hard to reach out for help for the resulting anorexia, but is very scared. We want to do everything in our power to make it safe for her.
Apart from the anorexia, the other coping mechanism she developed, as a reaction to the loss, was to write a memory on her leg. She knows it is not 'normal', and is extremely worried about others knowing. We promised we would keep our knowledge of this private, and let her deal with just the anorexia now, so she can tackle one thing at a time, as she is just too overwhelmed to do more than that. She is suffering from such terrible grief.
So that is why we are hoping to edit the photo, and that it won't be too difficult of a task. The writing is with a black Sharpie marker, to give you a sense of the scale.
If it's possible, we would like to have the writing completely removed from the photo, and that specific portion of her leg returned to her skin color.
She also has a grey tint to the upper portion of her legs, from ink stains. It almost looks as if it is a grey "wash" across her legs.
We would love to have this upper portion of her legs made much less grey, or hopefully made her normal skin color.
The edits would need to be imperceptible.
I'll be able to explain in better detail when you have the photo to reference, but for privacy's sake, I didn't want to post the photo in the forum. I'll be more than happy to send it to you.
I was hoping to ask for "the kindness of a stranger" in the hopes that we might find a kind-hearted soul who could help make the edits in the photo. We want desperately to help save her life, and we hope that doing this will be the beginning of a turning point for her. She is such a loving, sensitive person, and thus her overwhelming reaction to the loss. We can't stand that she's in such pain, and our hearts are breaking that she's suffering so terribly on top of everything she's already gone through.
If you might find it in your heart to email me and look over the photo to see if the edits and color changes are possible, it would mean more to me than I could say.
