What do you guys think of a site/platform that allows artwork collaboration, remixing and derivatives?
For example, imagine you create an artwork with Photoshop. You then go to this site and upload the Jpeg+PSD for this artwork. The site would behave much like DeviantArt or Flickr where you can browse other's submissions and talk about them. Difference is, another user can download your image+PSD, do modifications/improvements to your artwork, and Re-submit it to the site as a remix/derived artwork (this way the site can keep track of the derived artworks like a thread). Someone else can take now download either of these version, do modifications, and resubmit yet again... and the process continues...
Think of it like ccMixter.org for artwork/graphics. Or Github for Artwork where you can fork and derive from ongoing projects, except for Artwork. Another way of putting it is Open Source Art. From a legal point of view, users would need to submit artwork under CreativeCommons By-Sa for example allowing other's to remix..
Anyway, what do you think? Would any of you find something like that useful?
