if you look at the 1st pic it looks like the face is sort of ice cold ..how can i get this effect? i tried a colorize but doesn't work

Practice and a good eye, or is it a good eye and practice?

You're on the right track, but you need to experiment and tweak to get the effect you want on whatever picture you choose. There is no specific effect sequence that will work the same on every picture. You will have to "fine tune" with layer masks, and possibly different blending modes as well as curves and levels.

I think you're off to a good start with colorizing, keep experimenting!
