Found this pic and am very curious in learning how this effect was created. Any advice is appreciated.

i bet there is a lot of ways to achieve this effect , heres one i used yesterday looks sort of similar and pretty easy

first one is the tutorial the second one is the effect i used , then just add a mask paint in black and remove what you dont want as i did with half of the indian squaws body

you have to scroll down to the indian but the first image has a similar effect

I'm not sure that effect was Photoshop. Looks like some kind of photography trick. I'm sure Tom or someone more versed in photography will be along to tell us what's up. :)

Looks like selection process was tedious, a good smudged tool with hard edge, numerous layers and even some wave effect going on. Don't think that's camera generated effects myself. That's my two cents Don't spend it all in one place:mrgreen:

It looks like some sort of time lapse photography to me. :)

(and I choose to spend your two cents on a shiny new piece of candy bought from that nice trench coat wearing man man on the corner.) :bustagut:

I guess it's entirely possible but now I have to chip in five cents, look closer at the lines In my opinion they are to rigid The only suspect that I see is how they managed to keep the power towers so crisp. That leave me guessing about whether camera generated or not I'll lean towards Photoshop though.

Yep, pretty much a guessing game unless the originator chimes in:thumbsup:

I just looked at the name of the file"timelapse-photography-matt-molloy-10.jpeg"... Oh for Pete sakes the answer is in the name.

The real challenge would be to reproduce the effect in Photoshop.

Thanks for the link iPop, they're all beautiful but the wind farm is absolutely stunning!

Hahaha....It happens, what can I say. Glad you got a chuckle at my expense lol next time that'll be 5 bucks please

So now for my next question, isnt time lapse a series of "x" amount photos stitched together to make a moving image. I have searched this before but I was under the impression that this type of photography was for actual movement. Will be doing more research as I await responses.

Time lapse usually IS to show the progression of things that take too long to view normally. That being said, each frame of that film is still basically just a photograph, and this photographer just thought outside the box and made a really striking image.
