Cloning stone texture

Hi all,

I want to clone a stone texture from a photograph. The problem is that with the standard cloning method i'm getting blurred areas. I remember seeing in a magazine (long since lost) a technique for cloning while keeping the sharpness of the image but can't recall it now that I need it!

Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks
P

Hi, just so we have our terminology correct, what do you mean by clone? Please describe in as much detail as possible.

You can add images to your post by using the add image icon in the reply window.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. See attached image. I wand to remove the gaps between the stones so I have a texture that I can use in Mudbox to projection paint.

I am using a grunge brush now and it seems to do the job.

Yeah I suppose I should go down that route. I was just trying to use the original source images as much as possible. I think i will use a mixed bag of images.

Thanks for that IamSam
