Hi

I am new here, please be gentle.

I'm a novice at Photoshop CS6 and I am starting to learn about the clone tool.

When I use Option+mouse click! I set the source I want to clone from. However, when it click and drag the mouse across the area I want changing the source cursor also drags around. I cannot find the option to make the source cursor static when using the clone tool, or if it can be made static at all.

Please help.

Many thanks.

I don't think you can click and drag without getting alignment relative to the source point. If you use that source point and click individually, you'll clone from the same source. As soon as you drag, you'l move the source point.

When you use aligned, each separate click will be in relation to the original click, for example,10 pixels to the right and above the original sourcing and first click to create the alignment.

As for drag and original sourcing, I personally don't know how to accomplish that, or if it can be done.

Whoops - Clare is right. I forgot to point out that you have to use a bunch of separate, individual clicks, not one continuous click and drag movement if you want to use the same patch over and over.

I often will do a click followed by a short drag, and then repeat this many times. It often fills things in faster.
